We woke up to rain (say what?). But given the horrible flooding in Valencia, just three hours south of us, it could have been so much worse! We considered ourselves very lucky!
An adorable cafe was the spot we chose for a quick cup of coffee and some scrumptious pastry!
It began POURING, so we put our umbrellas to good use and decided a ride on the Hop On Hop Off bus would be the perfect thing to do!
Our chariot arrived and we ducked inside to escape the rain!
MUCH BETTER!!! And it was FUN seeing and hearing about the sights and different areas around Barcelona!
It was AMAZING to see L’ARC de TRIUMPH (and take the obligatory photo),
as well as the SAGRADA FAMILIA. Some progress had been made on the Basilica since John and I were there last (SOME being the operative word), but it was definitely beautiful and still a work in progress!
Their needs were met, what more can I say? John was HAPPY with yet another Hard Rock Cafe shirt, Patte was THRILLED with a McDonald’s Diet Coke, and Mike (who was identifying as a flight attendant today in his all blue garb) just wanted to be part of the picture!
We all LOVED walking along the streets of Barcelona,
as well as eating the food!
LA RAMBLAS happens to be one of my favorite streets in the world! (I find it magical!) There was a lot of action happening on it (and, unfortunately, a lot of construction)! The monk parrots were out and about and were a joy to see!
We hopped back on the bus and sat on top to see more of the sights along the route,
and were nearly blown off the bus by the huge gales of wind!
Another fabulous tapas dinner in yet another adorable cafe was enjoyed by all! (Have I mentioned how GOOD the tapas are in Barcelona?) As always, John and I ordered WAY TOO MANY!
And we each enjoyed another great brewskie, founded by the great AUGUST DAMM! (We thought of you, August! As well as you, Kevin!)
