THE BEACHES OF NORMANDY!

We were loaded onto the tour bus oh dark early for the start of our Tour of Normandy!

First, the museum from the Battle of Utah Beach.  (Are you proud of us, Chloe?)

John and Mike opted to head to Utah Beach to see where the battle was actually fought.

Haha!  They were surprised to see horses training on the beach!

Patte and I opted to head to the coffee shop and warm up!  The cafe was war themed and adorable (and cozy warm!).

Our bus stopped by a cafe at a marina for a quick lunch and apple cider tasting!  The view made us feel at home!

Next stop was an official apple cider tasting…this time WITH alcohol!

John and Mike were “kind of” fans; Patte and I, not so much!

Our next stop was to see the Ranger Casualties Memorial Park.  German bunkers there are still in tact.

Then on to Omaha Beach we went and we basically did a drive-by.

Our last stop of the day was the National Cemetery for men and women lost at Normandy.  What a beautiful, yet somber, place.

Right st 4:00PM, taps played and the flag came down.  It brought chills down our spines.

Our bus tour ended at 7:45 and were we HUNGRY and it was our LAST night in Paris and have I mentioned we were HUNGRY?  So we did what we do best and found yet another charming cafe and had dinner!!!  Patte and I enjoyed escargot and foie gras and ate each and every morsel!  Ah, Paris, we’re going ti miss you!

               Hier soir à paris!
