SLEPT IN; METRO; MONTMARTRE; HARD ROCK; AND THE EIFFEL TOWER!

OMGoodness!!!  John, Patte and I slept until almost 10:00AM today!  W H A T???   We (John & I) have NEVER slept this late!  I don’t know what Patte’s excuse was, however, this was our excuse…these are the steps down to our bedroom!  Yup, our Airbnb bed is down these steps into a cave-like room and is ABSOLUTELY the BEST place to sleep EVER!  It is AMAZING!!

You have NEVER seen us move so quickly!  In a matter of mere minutes we were deep in the bowels of the Metro!  Thank goodness for the leadership of Mike and John, who quickly found our route to Montemartre!

We arrived on schedule, but it became a bit dubious finding our funicular to take us to the top.

But we finally found it, took it up to the top, avoiding a million plus steps!  Whew!  Oh, Montmartre, you have our heart!!!  Such a cute, artsy area with wonderful views!

We grabbed yet another delicious lunch at a delightful French cafe and got a few minutes to people-watch! (My favorite thing to do!)

Then off we went to explore all that Montmartre had to offer!  And it had a lot!!

All around the center of town, artist stations were placed.  Different artists displayed their works—they were spectacular!

We ventured inside St. Pierre—oh, so beautiful (in its’ own way)!

Next stop was a well earned shopping destination for John and beer stop for all four of us!  Ahhhh!

Can you see how HAPPY John was after making his purchase of yet another Hard Rock t-shirt?  Lucky for him that he got it, as this location is set to close in December.  Sadly, there will be no more Hard Rock Cafes in France.  😢

We ventured across the infamous Seine River.

And took in the fabulous Notre Dame Cathedral, still under massive reconstruction.

Our final stop of the day was the Eiffel Tower—but first came dinner!

And then….wowohwow, what a way to end our day!

What an AMAZING day it was, it was!  Our feet are tired, but our hearts are full!

                                  à demain matin!
