FINALLY….BONJOUR PARIS!!!

We can describe our flight to Paris in one word: DELAYED!   Actually, DELAYED after DELAYED after DELAYED would better describe it!  Apparently, there was a mechanical problem (lovely!) that needed to be taken care of before we could board.  We finally sat down on the ground after the third delay notice came through.  United employees offered us water and snacks and a view to die for!

Finally, after over three hours, we got on that plane and were we EXCITED!

Then, after our 7.5 hour flight, we arrived in Paris and were DELAYED leaving the plane!  Apparently there was an issue with security at the airport (we chose not to ask questions!) so we had to stay on board for over two hours!.

They parked our plane far away from the terminal (still don’t know why) which meant we had to haul our luggage down the airplane steps and then up a HUGE flight of airport steps—let’s just say it was NOT EASY!  But we did it, (and were very thankful that we each only had a two wheeler and backpack to haul!)  We taxied through the crowded streets of Paris before finding our cute little Airbnb.  Since we couldn’t check in until 4:00PM, we meandered around until we found a charming French cafe.  We enjoyed an authentic French “LINNER” and were reminded that we weren’t in the good ‘ol US of A anymore!  Luckily, our waiters were delightful and willing to help us navigate the menu as best they could!

John and I were surprised to find that we were owners of a shop close by our Airbnb!

Patte was delighted to find a McDonald’s on every street corner!

We finally got checked into our Airbnb, shared a bottle of really good wine, planned our day tomorrow and (at long last) dropped, dead tired, into bed!

                                                    BONSOI, everyone!
